WHO ARE PLID? Formed in 2003, friends Chris Patton, Eric Dano and Frank Ortiz found a collective musical outlet with PLID. Having unsuccesfully attempted a musical collaboration in the past, the three finally found a unique voice in electronic music by channelling their frustration with the state of the majority of electronic pop music they were hearing at local clubs. Chris Patton and Frank Ortiz met in college while studying Theatre Arts at the University of Houston. They first met Eric Dano in a 1994 production of "Jesus Christ Superstar". Several theatrical productions later, the three became close friends; bonding over their love of music, theatre and design. With the advent of electroclash and the current 80s revival, Frank, who had been writing electronic music alone for many years decided to try a collaboration with Chris and Eric yet again. The result was enough to convince the three to forge ahead and the culmination of this is the soon-to-be-released EP "Fast Machines."
